Popups never scroll

  • Every popup, modal, dialog and popover must fit its content without horizontal or vertical scrolling, including on phones and at increased text size.
  • Use popups only for brief information or a small, focused confirmation.
  • If content needs scrolling, give it a normal page with ordinary document scrolling. Do not hide, clip or shrink content to keep it in a popup.
  • Settings, long forms, lists and detailed reference information belong on pages. For example, source choices and storage locations live at /sources.
  • Check both narrow and wide screens when adding or changing an overlay.
